Susan Bertoia - 2024
Susan Bertoia is a professional theatre artist, director and teacher. She also serves as an adjudicator at drama and speech arts festivals throughout BC for over 18 years. She is delighted to be a part of the Cariboo Festival and supporting the arts in the community.
Her dynamic artistic practice with specialization in physical theatre and mask performance, make her a well-respected and sought out artist in Canada. She is an award-winning theatre actor; an Adjunct Professor in UBC’s Theatre Department; an independent teaching artist in residence at secondary and elementary schools; a director of theatre and film; a playwright; a physical dramaturg and often creative director for large scale theatre productions in the Lower Mainland. Recently Susan was awarded the ‘Excellence in Drama Education’ through ABCDE. Her training includes: BFA (UBC Theatre), Commedia (Piccolo Teatro di Milano and Dell’Arte School of Physical Theatre) and physical theatre practice (Jeremy James); Devised Theatre (Frantic Assembly).
